Kryptographik is a trans-continental
podcast featuring Brian (in the U.S.) and Damian (in Australia),
providing news, reviews, commentary and interviews covering
horror, dark fantasy and science-fiction.
In our 26th podcast, we speak with Bob Caton
& Michael Bann about their new comic, The Victorian
Horrors of Old Mauch Chunk. We discuss where the story follows
and strays from actual history, the real world town where
the story takes place, the horror, steampunk and adventure
elements of the story, viral marketing, promotions with
businesses related to the comic, working with Diamond Comic
Distributors as a new publisher, and Australia's Big Electric
Cat.

We are very pleased to
formally announce that Issue #2 of The Victorian Horrors
of Old Mauch Chunk is now being prepared for lettering.
The script for Issue #3 has been finalized and handed off
to the artist with a full compliment of notes and reference
materials. We are planning to release a limited edition
of Issue #2 somewhere around August 2008, very nearly the
same time that the mass produced edition of
Issue #1 will be in stores. Stay tuned as this is only going
to pick up steam.

So,
we're posting this audio clip here without permission of the
owners simply because it is so new that we just found it and
had to share it and have not figured out how to contact them
yet. This is a comic review podcast and lo and behold one
of their reviewers happened upon a copy of The Victorian Horrors
of Old Mauch Chunk.
We are delighted our story has found
its way into the hands of someone who most obviously was equipped
to understand and appreciate what we are working towards. |
Recently
it was brought to the attention of the Gentleman Publishers
of the Amalgamated Simulca-Graphy & Manuscription Company
that the electron gun deployed news medium of the MSN company's
city guides section featured a portion devoted to extolling
the virtues of the Jim Thorpe region as an area worthy of
rewarding travel. Delightful and of note to us is that in
a move to embellish the allure of the area they made passing
mention of The Victorian Horrors of Old Mauch Chunk, who
we ask, could blame them? . Click the MSN graphic to view
the page.
