We
are very pleased to formally announce that Issue #2 of The
Victorian Horrors of Old Mauch Chunk is now being prepared
for illustration. The srcipt has been finalized and handed
off to the artist with a full compliment of notes and reference
materials. We are planning to release a limited edition of
Issue #2 somewhere around April 2008, very nearly the same
time that the mass produced edition of Issue #1 will be in
stores. Mr. Caton is also well on his way to a completed Issue
#3 and he and Mr. Bann have every expectation that by the
end of 2008 four issues will be available for sale. Stay tuned
as this is only going to pick up steam.

Well this
is fun. We recently conducted our second follow-up interview
with Al Zagofsky who is a major contibutor to the Lehighton
PA newspaper The TIMES NEWS. We met him at the Inn at Jim
Thorpe and had a great time talking about the project, the
allure of the town and lots of other things as well. We
weren't prepared for the story to run on the front page
however and it would appear that the article sent hordes
of people to the shops that had copies of the Limited Special
First Edition and cleared them out in short order... Click
the photo to be taken to the article. If you are hoping
to buy a copy from those shops - you'll have to wait.....
we produced 200 initially of the 500 total and have another
200 inbound from the printer. We will update the site as
soon as we have them back in the stores. Sorry for the inconvenience,
we didn't expect this at all.

So,
we're posting this audio clip here without permission of the
owners simply because it is so new that we just found it and
had to share it and have not figured out how to contact them
yet. This is a comic review podcast and lo and behold one
of their reviewers happened upon a copy of The Victorian Horrors
of Old Mauch Chunk.
We are delighted our story has found
its way into the hands of someone who most obviously was equipped
to understand and appreciate what we are working towards. |
The
day has finally arrived! The Limited Special First Edition of The
Victorian Horrors of Old Mauch Chunk is here! We have obtained
a limited number of copies from the printshop and are readying them
for distribution to select retailers. This run will be limited to
500 numbered copies. Several different packages will be offered
which will include additional materials not available by any other
means. Click the graphic to the left for more information.
Recently
it was brought to the attention of the Gentleman Publishers
of the Amalgamated Simulca-Graphy & Manuscription Company
that the electron gun deployed news medium of the MSN company's
city guides section featured a portion devoted to extolling
the virtues of the Jim Thorpe region as an area worthy of
rewarding travel. Delightful and of note to us is that in
a move to embellish the allure of the area they made passing
mention of The Victorian Horrors of Old Mauch Chunk, who
we ask, could blame them? . Click the MSN graphic to view
the page.

For
your consideration, click the logo at the left to venture off to
the Times News website where you may delight in the article of Al
Zagofsky's who recently interviewed Mr. Michael Bann on the impending
release of the first issue of the Victorian Horrors of Old Mauch
Chunk. Al's thorough article is an excellent primer on the project
and will assist the un-initiated with additional Mauch Chunk - Jim
Thorpe history.
The
Gentleman Publishers of the Amalgamated Simulca-Graphy &
Manuscription Company are well pleased to inform you our
most valued patrons that an exclusive sneak preview of materials
from the forthcoming literary extravaganza The Victorian
Horrors of Old Mauch Chunk are now being exhibited
to the public at large at the Anita Shapolsky Gallery in
Mauch Chunk (known to time travelers of the future as Jim
Thorpe Pennsylvania).
Messrs. Bann and Caton
cordially encourage you to make haste and take in this wonderment
before the engagement expires (show runs through September
2007). The gallery is also home to several magnificent works
of stained glass by Tiffany, LaFarge and others along with
numerous other frontal lobe stimulating art works and installations.
