I rise though I can barely feel a thing.
I move toward the door and open it. It should be freezing,
the air should sting my face………..it does
not.
I become instantly aware of a sound, no sounds… some
are low, humming but the most notable thing I can hear is
a noise akin to that which I’ve only experienced in
the lab, the sound one would hear from an electrostatic generator.
The light is fairly intense as I approach
the edge of the porch, it is obviously emanating from above
in the sky.
I reach the railing and am transfixed by what I see…
All about the church intense ribbons of light seem to be tracing
the edges of the building and windows, with wider, less kinetic
waves of plasma ebbing over the flat surfaces…. once
while at sea I experienced what the sailors called St. Elmo’s
Fire but I’ve not heard of it occuring on land. There
is something quite different here as well…
the colors… the patterns…
what I am witnessing here seems to be nearly purposeful in
it’s movements, I swear it nearly seems to possess an
intelligence.
